Zygo Vodka - 70 Proof Regime

I was first introduced to the notorious Motherfucker Party about three years ago while I was coat checking at Centro Fly. Harold, then the GM, was like "this shit is going to be crazy so be on point". I was a newbie to the city back then. Something about the way Harold has said those words made me feel like I was about to get schooled on some real New York City shit. 10pm rolled by and I can easily say the floodgates of a secret portal to the "World of Freak" had swung open with a vengeance. It was like every possible dream and nightmare you can conceive was made manifest into the physical. The make-up, the clothes, the feathers, the leather, the metal, the glitz, and all that glam. My hair swung back and I took a breath of relief. I'm home.

Fast forward to 2007. The Motherfucker in its 7th year running had booked out Webster Hall and a band too fitting for the night's revelry: The Faint. With their deep, dark analog sound they easily create a magnetic sort of hype on stage as they do in their recorded albums. Their music hangs in the air like a black velvet drape that only allows in enough light to shock the synapses in overdrive. They are as fun to watch as they are to listen to with lyrics that kind of make you feel a little dirty. Kind of like someone told you a secret that you rather had not known but now that you do makes you want to get naked and do bad things. Like I said The MotherFucker is a portal to a world not quite normal and easily leaves all judgments at the door.
